This evening I jumped on the first call with Jennifer Deese who is laying out my upcoming self-improvement book: WHEN THE STORM RUNS OUT OF RAIN, due out in September!
We discussed the acknowledgement page, author bio page, possible photos inside, steps for the cover attachment and shot around ideas for the format and flow if the material itself. We should be seeing the first sets of PDF proofs within two weeks and I am pumped!
I have given Jennifer free reign to allow her creative professionalism to run crazy while she has vowed to connect with me often as we bounce ideas and positives as well as negatives to hammer out a beautiful package that will impact lives around the world!
Stay tuned as we close in on September and WHEN THE STORM RUNS OUT OF RAIN drops for readers everywhere!!
So with tomorrow (Wednesday) approaching, I am super excited to be climbing on my first call with my interior designer for my new book, WHEN THE STORM RUNS OUT OF RAIN. Mrs. Jennifer Deese did an amazing job on my friend, Dr. Coyte G. Cooper’s bestselling, MAKE YOUR MARK and I could not be any more pumped to watch as she works her extraordinary magic on my book which has a release date set for Sept. 1st!
I admit I have no idea what we will cover in our first call but I am positive that it will be nothing less than epic talking points that will help move the needle of this earth! I will be back on tomorrow to let you know exactly how our call shapes up. Until then, have a great middle of the week and make your dreams happen!
Today, I traveled to Flora, Illinois and met the students and staff of Flora Elementary School. Barney & Lexi were on hand and met the students as we put on an great presentation and gave value to others.
I look forward to coming to your school!!!
When you reach moments in your life, that you rise above old fears and reach the next level, you have achieved success!
It took eight years to get here and now it’s time to get to work! I hope I am able to inspire you to conquer your fears!!
Stopping off at the post office today, I was waiting on by the always polite clerk who has gotten so used to my being there of the last year that it’s not even funny and we began discussing the weather. The clerk began to tell me about how they had used the nice day yesterday to wash their car because they don’t clean it when the weather is cooler. We had a good laugh about that and then the clerk said something that caught my attention in another way.
“As you can see I have a pretty dull life,” they said.
I encouraged that it surly was not dull but the clerk insisted it was as we parted ways. I left the post office and began thinking about how submitting to a ‘dull’ life is just not what life is all about! Life is truly meant to be lived to the fullest and beyond submission to a false idea that life is just ‘ok’ or ‘so-so’.
I was there! I was over weight (by 50 pounds), I blamed others, I just rolled with everything that was handed to me instead of taking it head on. I felt that I had a ‘dull’ life and fell into the trap of that was just how it was and I had been dealt that hand. How wrong I was!
This month alone I hired a life coach to help guide me to the next level of my writing and speaking career. His name is RM Dozier and upon meeting him a year ago, I know this guy is going to push me and that is what I desire. I’m not afraid to seek help for my goals and RM is just the man to help me fine tune my focus! We have a conference call coming up next week and I am all out ready for it!
I was also asked if I might give the keynote speech for my old high school’s career day and I said I would be humbled to! I’m just waiting for a reply and it will be off to the races for speech writing and run through to polish it.
In one month, I will be traveling to northern Indiana and presenting two presentations at Canterbury School and am ready to crush it with excitement and fun! I have also been confirmed for a elementary school visit in central Illinois in April and one in Southern Illinois in May. Add in a pre-graduation ceremony speech before the graduating class of my local high school and the truth is I have anything but a ‘dull’ life!
No matter what it is, your life is your life! If you find it becoming a bit ‘dull’ or lackluster, let’s jump on giving it a polish, you’ll feel so good once you’ve begun!
In my hand is the letter that I have typed up to submit to local area high school asking to come and speak to their students. The moment we begin working towards our goals and leave worry about what others might say behind, we begin living a quality of life that 90-95% of the world are not living. Go all in, life is waiting!
“To live an above average life, we must become above average people!” – Jim Rohn
This week I stepped onto the ledge and took a jump!
For years the idea of public speaking was filled with a sense of fear that held me back. It wasn’t the fear of getting in front of others, it was the fear of looking like I didn’t know what I was doing. That is the most debilitating fear that one can have and it is as false as the voices in our minds telling it to us!
This week I sat down at my computer and began writing to every high school in a hundred mile radius and asked if I could speak to their students free of charge. Now that might seem rather risk taking but in truth it is necessary to create a base for my career. Don’t misunderstand me, the farther I will go, I will ask for something like my fuel in return while within this area and later turn this into a career that will support me and my children. The key is to get my plane off the ground and go higher into the clouds.
I’ll admit that I am nervous, but the nervousness is simply a sign of the next level approaching and the time is coming to prepare to grab ahold and pull myself to that level and leave the old one behind!
Whatever your wanting to do in your life, I want to encourage you to go for it and go for it now! There is never a more perfect time like today, like right now! In the words of the old film ‘Captain Ron’, Turn On The Juice And See What Shakes Loose!
