I want to begin by wishing you a save and happy new year! My hope for you is nothing less than the magnificent life you have waiting for you!
It has been a long time coming for this moment. Once an idea in my head for a couple of years, now to the point that I am able to reveal the cover for my new book: WHEN THE STORM RUNS OUT OF RAIN!
This cover comes with the help of my good friend, Dr. Gage Caudell, not only a surgeon but a successful photographer who blessed me with the image seen above! This photo captures the very heart of this book and I am blessed to have him so graciously allow this cover to be here now!
I want to thank my son, Lynden for so much positive support through the writing of this book. My mentor and good friend, Dr. Coyte Cooper, for coaching me through some crazy moments and writing two books himself (Impressions, Make Your Mark) and being a guide for what a book should say. My new friend, Nicole Zeien-Cox, author of Foster To Fosters, for being the straw that broke the back of this camel and set the pace for a crazy 30 days of writing!
This book is now in editing and then to interior layout. It is scheduled for a 2018 publication date.
It is my wish for everyone who reads this book that they find the power, belief and will to make every goal they set a reality and know that sometimes a setback is the beginning of a comeback!
More posts will follow as time draws near publication. Wishing everyone a wonderful 2018!!!!
The beginning of the work week found me almost finishing up work on my rental house. I have to admit that after two years of working on it 95% with my own two hands, I am glad to be in the home stretch and about ready to rent. It has been a long road but the end result is going to be worth it!
As for the new book, I added a dedication page to my children and got the back cover text finalized. Now I have an appointment with Hannah, the designer who will take my photo provided by my good friend, Dr. Gage Caudell and the back cover text and will work with playing around with the design over the next week.
I am not sure how I will do the reveal of the cover yet but am looking forward to sharing it with others once completed!
Once back from the designers, it will be all hands on deck for the writing of this weeks column. Only three more weeks before I complete my 52nd article and I am pumped about that!
Well, I hope that your week is finding you well, happy and moving along! Enjoy every moment!
I began the day on page 173 of the new book and am ending this evening on page 191 and could not be more excited! My goal was to write this book within 30 days. I was inspired to set that goal because my good friend, Author/Speaker – Nicole Zeien-Cox wrote her bestselling ‘Foster To Fosters’ in one month. Now, with only a few sections remaining, I have no doubt that I will meet my goal and begin working on the cover with an amazing photo provided by renown surgeon and photographer, Dr. Gage Caudell!
With the holidays this week, I was able to spend time with my kids today and am sad to report that after four games of SORRY, I again came up with no ‘W’ in my column. Oh well!
So yesterday, while spending a wonderful day with my children, thus is why I did not post and really hope you understand, we played in the day, took in many games of Cornhole and enjoyed simply being with each other!
During this great day, I got a telephone call with some great news! One of the organizers for the Chestnut Festival’s 2016 Photo Contest was calling to inform me that I had placed 2nd in this years contest and was asking for my address so that a prize check could be mailed to me. I want to let it be known that I am extremely excited to win 2nd place for the second time!
The truth about life is 2nd place is often a building block to 1st! How we handle those moments helps determine just how hard we will be willing to work towards our future. As for me, I am grateful! Gratitude for placing in between the top and the bottom and for having the opportunity to reach this moment in my career.
So before I turn in for the night, I would like to leave you with some advice, fight sleep until it takes you down, ignore negative comments, regardless of who might say them and know that only you and you alone set your pace and achieve your goals! All of the rest will come and go, it is you who will remain. Hang in there and keep going!
Today, my wife delivered some great news!
My first copy of the first volume of the Spring Edition had arrived and I could not wait to look at it! Having it in my hands fell as though my trek that began three years ago had come full circle. Being my very first picture book, I could not be more excited to see a finished volume in front of me.
One thing that I have been thinking of since then is that instead of three volumes of each season, I may layout a combined edition and publish one edition of Spring as an individual hardback book. I will put more thought into that before deciding but can not hide my happiness over this accomplishment.
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and Live With Passion!
After a great night with family, I woke to the sound of children’s feet and little knocks on the door, announcing that hungry bellies were ready for breakfast. We made a family affair out of toasting waffles in the toaster. As funny as it may sound, I enjoyed watching them wolf down the syrup laden meal. Then it was time to change into their swim wear and hit the pool while I mowed our lawn. Hot, to say the least, I admit to break taking but at times, envied the kids in the cool, clear water of the swimming pool.
By sunset, I began to finish the final layout and story board set for the second volume of my Spring picture book. With the amount of favorite photos I had to choose from, the Spring set will be made of three volumes. I look forward to the feed back on this series. I want to invite you to click below and take a peek.
Now, as my daughter, stops around our home, begging for a snack before bed, I wish you a wonderful beginning to your week and hope everything positive comes your way!
Live With Passion!!
