Change The Enviorment

This past Friday morning I woke up and stared around my room and asked myself. How can I write, work on my picture book and raise three sons with piles of notes, photos and school artwork laying everywhere? I also became fed up with the entire room being the same color of white! I had photos piled on a shelf over my head that I feared might pull the shelf off of the wall, along with notes from Barney & Lexi that I had worked up before I rewrote it and sent it off you NYC. To top it off, my sons, Lynden and Ethan’s artwork from the end of school was laying about and that is the one thing I proudly love to display, it also makes them feel awesome!

Thus, I laid out my plan to remedy the situation. That Friday night, after my sons fell asleep, I began taking everything down and off of my walls and piling them onto the little table that rests in what you might call my kitchen but is so small, you might think otherwise.

I then made through five hours of work on my saturday morning. Between the few customers we had that morning, I spent my time gathering rollers, brushes and paint for my room. I found an awesome color that went great with my carpet, (I needed something that complimented the tan carpet, since the white did nothing but make it look dirty). I also wanted more work space to write and do layouts and rewrites. I brought home some lumber to add-on to my existing desk which was soon to be place in a different area.

I went home, cleared my room and began filling nail holes. Then came time for the moment of truth, PAINT! After four hours and two coats the room not only looked great but got me even more excited about getting back into it! Before I could do this, I rented a Rug Doctor and cleaned my carpet, not once, but, twice! Dear god there was so much filth in it, it was hard to believe my sons played on it!!

I put in new electrical outlets and a new light switch to top it off. Last night (saturday night) I was up until 2 a.m. working on it before I succumbed to the pressure of fatigue!

I woke up at 9 a.m. and went right to work on my new desk. I cut my lumber and stained it to match my current desk, which turned out awesome! I then began to move everything back in and place things back onto the walls in a fashion I found motivational. After almost 24 hours of work it is almost finished and look outstanding. When I am done I will have to show you!

Well, next Sunday is the first start of the summer edition of the picture book, I will have some great shots to share and as always looking forward to hearing from you wonderful folks!! As it is 9 p.m. I best let my own folks turn in for the night, thus meaning, I need to leave the internet behind for another week.

Take care and LIVE WITH PASSION!!

  1. Yesterday, while I was at work, my cousin stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
